5 weeks ago…

I sold my house and got rid of most everything I owned. I drove away. 10 hours later I stopped at my Aunt’s house down in Fenton, MI and left a box of taxes and a box of friend’s art. My Aunt said, “I figured out the true meaning of TAJ– it’s WIND.” 

I froze. 

This was a very out of character thing for my normally straight-laced Aunt to say. Was she making a fart joke?! But then I realized she was saying something equally out of character but much more profound and she continued, “You’re letting your intuition lead the way.”

And I am- even if that is likely too romantic a way to explain things. 

I’m going traveling for an indefinite time. Maybe I’ll find somewhere new to live. Hopefully I’ll reconnect with some friends and meet some new ones. Without much of a plan, I’m just following what feels right. Bikes will be involved, I’m sure of that. 

I drove away from Michigan and got to Chicago. Driving seemed boring so I pulled into Let’s Roast Bike Shop and tried to pack my two bikes into a box. They wouldn’t fit so I left my MTB frame at the shop and squeezed my dirt jumper and all the parts from my MTB into one gigantic E-bike box.

At a Carvana near the airport I sold my car and hopped on a plane.
