The Salad Had Avocado Slices

Minor wrestling match in my head going on the last couple days… I’m feeling tired. I think I’m tired of constantly moving around and a big part of me wants to chill out in one place for a few weeks, but the other half of me is arguing that I only have a short time left in Europe and I should pack in as much as I can. The urge to focus on drawing and writing is winning though so I think I will try and spend a few days in one place soon.

More quality bike routes today.
Leaving Frankfurt.

Reevaluating the whole trip plays well through my mind. I’m happy. I’ve had some sad thoughts here and there of course (the people sleeping on the streets in London still haunt me) but I feel invigorated by this adventure. I have not even once second guessed selling my house and getting rid of what I own to start wandering. And I’ve not yet had a moment of fear about what the future might bring.

Body lays on cardboard while people party on the other side of a wall.
Follow that river.

I had an easy day pedaling from Frankfurt to Mainz. The whole route was along a river and for Austin friends it felt like riding down the Town Lake bike trail into another city. For a tired rider it was like spending the day in a metaphorical hammock of a bike ride. Perfect weather escorted me and I didn’t even bother with a map as the river went where I wanted to go.

Alleyway art.

I saw a lot of spots that looked fun for BMX riding and a number of tiny skateparks. It’s funny how I find myself magnetically drawn to those. There’s no visual clue that there is something nearby but all of a sudden my handlebars start twitching and I wander around a corner to find something cool. Like water divining but for riding spots. This loop thing is the most amazing. It’d be very deadly but I also think for the right stunt rider it is a possible grind around. Or with a bit of plywood to fill in the holes it would be session-able. Seems the right size, and it is made from thick steel with a raised lip. Would never have been my kind of thing but maybe Rooftop’s.

I think… maybe…
Not even one wall ride mark on here, but it looked perfect.

Sundays in Germany are quiet with all the businesses closed but I found a good salad take out place. All above is a recipe for a nice day.

Just put the trash out near the pope stabbing the horcrux.

Love this. It’s been a pleasure to follow along, but equally it’s been inspiring/reflective on what’s important in life vs. what isn’t, and how we have the power to make these dreams reality if we’re willing to do it.

It has been a good adventure. And fun to write about whatever pops into my head while on it.
